Alberta Scene

Welcome!

Where Alberta comes to the Nation's Capital - April 28 to May 10, 2005.

We're bringing in over 600 established and emerging Alberta artists to perform at more than 95 events in any one of 19 venues across the National Capital region. And the whole thing lasts for a fantastic 13 days!

Canada's National Arts Centre will present the very best sights and sounds of Alberta. From ballet to opera, classical music to folk, jazz, blues, roots, country, rock and hip-hop, theatre to comedy and so much more including visual and culinary arts, literature and film, you'll find it all right here in the National Capital from April 28 to May 10 2005.

One of the truly wonderful aspects of being Canada's National Arts Centre is the opportunity to reach out to communities across the country - to get to know them through their performing artists, one of the most important parts of their cultural life.

The NAC is proud to join Albertans in their celebration of the province's 100th anniversary in 2005. Through its Alberta Scene festival, the NAC offers you a unique perspective on the province and its culture, showcasing more than 600 Alberta artists, during 13 days, in more than 25 venues throughout the national capital region.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity - to experience the wide range of incredible artistic talent that hails from Alberta. Enjoy performances and events ranging from theatre, dance, visual and media arts, comedy, literature, culinary arts and children's programming, to classical, opera, folk, roots, blues, jazz, pop, rock, hip-hop and country music.

From April 28 to May 10, established and emerging artists from Alberta will fill the national capital region with the sights, sounds and flavours of Alberta. Come celebrate "Alberta on the Rideau" with Canadians from across the country.
