Saw Gallery: David Hoffos

One of the oldest artist-run centres in the country, SAW Gallery was founded in 1973. The mandate of the Centre is to promote contemporary Canadian and international artists, emerging as well as established practitioners, from diverse cultural backgrounds. It presents a contemporary art program with a strong emphasis on performance and media art and will feature an exhibition of work by David Hoffos, Lethbridge

David Hoffos

In this video installation, David Hoffos constructs breathtaking optical illusions through the ubiquitous apparatus of the everyday. With lowend TV monitors, black masking tape and inexpensive mirrors, Hoffos uses pre-digital tricks of illusion to reveal secretive model worlds peopled by ghostly figures that drift, pace and
