Capturing the dynamism, adventure, pomp and flamboyance of the Baroque era, the Alberta Baroque Ensemble continually impresses audiences with their dedication to the performance practices that reflect the style and spirit of the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Founded in 1980 by its present artistic director, Paul Schieman, the ensemble of 16 professional musicians with extensive training and experience will play repertoire including Handel, Corelli and Telemann, whose creations are richly imbued with sensuous melodic lines, glowing sonorities, luxuriant counterpoint and driving rhythmic energy. Their performance at St. Andrew’s Church will feature world-renowned trumpeter, Jens Lindemann. Hailed as one of the most celebrated soloists in his instrument’s history, Jens Lindemann has performed internationally with orchestras, as soloist and recording artist, and has won countless prestigious competitions and awards. Classically trained at the Julliard School, Jens’ ability to perform as a diverse artist proves him to be a shining star of a new generation of musicians.
