In the mid-'70s, Bachman-Turner Overdrive sold in excess of 30 million records, earning a staggering 120 platinum, gold and silver discs, and notching up hits in more than 20 countries. When the band broke up at the end of the decade, millions of fans worldwide were bereft. Now, after a long wait, rock n'roll aficionados around the world are rejoicing at the news that rockers Randy Bachman and Fred Turner are reuniting. The musicians at the heart of legendary band Bachman-Turner Overdrive are recording and touring again as a new, full-throttle rock machine: Bachman & Turner.

The new incarnation is already getting a lot of attention with an album of new music that channels all the guitar pounding and catchy hooks of the band's famous hits, including the iconic "Takin' Care of Business." As one reviewer puts it, "[the] brand new Bachman & Turner release finds the two musicians somehow picking up exactly where they left off, and churning out fully charged rock sounding much like what could have come after 1974's Not Fragile. With the two singers sharing lead vocal duties, the new album features smoking mid-tempo anthems, funky riffs, catchy choruses, and the distinctive growling vocals familiar to fans from Bachman-Turner Overdrive classics such as "Let it Ride" and "Roll on Down the Highway."

Bachman & Turner's world debut occurred in June 2010 at the Sweden Rock Festival and they haven't looked back since. The band is currently playing select shows in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, backed by journeymen musicians Brent Howard, Marc LaFrance and Mick Dalla-Vee, who themselves have been performing together for more than 20 years. In November, Bachman & Turner rocked the crowd at the 98th Grey Cup in Edmonton.

The Ottawa tour date gives local fans a long-awaited chance to hear Bachman & Turner performing from their vast catalogue of hits, including favourites such as "Takin' Care of Business," "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet," "Roll on Down the Highway," "Hey You," "Let it Ride," "Blue Collar," "Rock is My Life," "Looking Out for #1," and "Four Wheel Drive," along with songs from their well-received new album.

The Sheepdogs are an old-school rock and roll revival. With big guitars, stacked harmonies, vintage organ, well crafted tunes, and a dynamite live show, it’s easy to see why these guys were nominated for Artist of the Year on XM Radio’s The Verge.
