Francophone music sensation Crystal Plamondon has gathered four of her favourite female singer-songwriters for this amazing evening of women and song. This event will take you from country to jazz, from folk to blues with a splash of Cajun thrown in for fun! During the 90s, bilingual singer-songwriter Crystal Plamondon traveled the globe to such far-reaching places as Louisiana, France and West Africa, with her unique blend of zydeco music inspired by the French-Canadian songs she grew up singing and Acadian Cajun rhythms. She earned an international reputation as a world-class artist and entertainer, as well as the moniker “Cajun Queen.” In 1992, Plamondon received the Molson Canadian ARIA (Alberta Recording Industry Association) Performer of the Year Award. In 1993, she was nominated for the YWCA’s Tribute to Women Award for Arts & Culture. In 2002, Plamondon released her third independent CD – Plus de Frontières - No Borders – later nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for “Outstanding Francophone Recording.” In 2004, she was awarded the “Prix Sylvie Van Brabant” for Excellence in Artistic Creation in Alberta. Plamondon’s wildly energetic performances communicate her joie de vivre and are a delight not to be missed.
