Old Reliable

Over the years, Old Reliable has shared the stage with Gord Downie of Tragically Hip fame, Oh Susanna, Giant Sand, The Corb Lund Band, and many others. Focusing on the original material of two songwriters, Mark Davis and Shuyler Jansen, Old Reliable blends what has recently been coined Americana music with rock and roll and modern effects.

The Populars

The Populars are three guys from the northern Alberta bush who are basically a straight-up rock band with a lot of energy and attitude. They toured non-stop for seven years (averaging 250 dates a year) and gained praise for putting on one hell of a live show. In 2002, when Mike Plume decided to go acoustic, the band started to work on original material. They took their core punk roots and merged them with the rock and pop influences they picked up over the years, and became The Populars. Their music is catchy, loud, heavy, simple, and raw. It's about passion over fashion, and that's the bottom line.

The Swiftys

The pride of Alberta, The Swiftys have been termed ‘old-school country’ and ‘modern outlaws’. Since coming together in the spring of 2002, The Swiftys have shared the stage with the likes of The Sadies, Fred Eaglesmith, Luther Wright and the Wrongs, and The Corb Lund Band among others. The band is fronted by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Shawn ‘Swifty’ Jonasson (Old Reliable, House of Payne and more). Backing Shawn on upright/electric bass and vocals is Jody ‘Thump’ Johnson, a seasoned veteran despite his youth. Grant ‘Stovetop’ Stovel, who also sits in with Sue Foley, is on the drum kit.
