Ann Vriend

Over the past few years, Ann Vriend has been to New York to record her songs at Sony Studios, made a highly successful appearance at the Edmonton Folk Festival, returned to New York to give performances at such legendary clubs as The Bitter End and Arlene’s Grocery, and won first prize in a song-writing contest, which led her to Nashville. Ann recently released her debut CD, Soul Unravelling, which features her rich powerful voice, intelligent poetic lyrics, and grooving tenacious melodies.

Rae Spoon

Born and raised in Alberta, Rae Spoon is a unique artist who defies stereotypes by mixing an old-fashioned song-writing style (read Woodie Guthrie and Hank Williams) with the perspective of a 22-year-old. Since emerging onto the music scene in 2001, Rae has built an incredibly diverse following. From a punk show with Winnipeg legends, Propagandhi, to folk festival workshops with peers such as The Be Good Tanyas, Rae has won over many unsuspecting audiences. Over the past two summers, Rae has performed at numerous festivals. At the Vancouver Folk Festival, all of Rae’s CD's sold out before the set was completed.

Rae Spoon is a winner of CBC's Galaxie Rising Star Award
