Created in 1997 by Darrin Hagen, Tornado Magnet is Hagen’s look at growing up white trash in a trailer court. From 1966 to 1982, Hagen lived in a trailer that traveled across Western Canada and the Prairies with his parents. Tornado Magnet is not just about trailers. It’s about class, culture and growing up on the prairie. “This production, skillfully balanced on the edge of humour and poignancy, may just be the best thing he’s ever done,” said CBC News, Edmonton. The piece is directed by one of Canada’s hottest theatrical talents, Chris Craddock, a multi-award winning director, playwright and actor. For over 15 years, Guys in Disguise have consistently been fringe favourites. Since their auspicious debut, Guys in Disguise productions have topped box office sales in their home town of Edmonton, and now have a large following across the province. Productions have toured to Toronto, Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary and Vancouver and productions are pending in Seattle, Chicago, Quebec, Atlantic Canada and Australia.
