A rollercoaster of knife-edge emotions, happy, touching and sad, Time Stands Still is a an intimate glimpse into the lives of two aboriginal men who have been life long friends and are serving a five year prison sentence together for a robbery that they have committed. The story takes place in the present in their jail cell, where they share their fear, pain, and laughter at the harsh realities they each must face. Carl and Mark are from the Blood Nation in Southern Alberta, and although they have grown up together each man has a unique perception of their situation. Their story offers us moments of absolute hilarity, reflection and sadness. Mr. Ivins has provided us with an all too real glimpse of the glaring reality of many native men today who find themselves spending time on the inside. Founded in 1992, Crazy Horse Theatre is the result of the collaboration between Robin Melting Tallow, Shane Cunningham, and Amethyst First Rider. Crazy Horse Theatre, Calgary's only professional aboriginal theatre company, is an ensemble of aboriginal theatre artists dedicated to producing plays that reflect the diversities, realities and possibilities of contemporary aboriginal life.
