War Hospital, a new production from the NFB’s North West Centre in Edmonton, chronicles the intense drama of the Red Cross medical mission in northern Kenya, where the world’s largest field hospital cares for wounded from nearby Sudan, the site of one of Africa’s longest-running civil wars. Co-produced with NHK (Japan), War Hospital was co-directed and written by David Christensen of Calgary and Damien Lewis from London (UK).  Shot in high definition digital video, War Hospital is a sympathetic and revealing portrait of people who face the stark reality of survival, injury and death on a daily basis.  The NFB producer for War Hospital is Bonnie Thompson.
